On July 4, 2026, the United States will celebrate an extraordinary milestone – 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. This historic anniversary, known as America’s Semiquincentennial, will inspire celebrations across the country, bringing communities together to honor our nation’s history, culture, and future.
We invite you to celebrate with us on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at our Fairmont branch! In honor of America’s 250th birthday, the library will host an afternoon of all-American fun for all ages. Guests can enjoy classic treats like apple pie, explore important moments in American history, and take part in traditional games such as hula hoop, jacks, and marbles. The event will also feature revolutionary-era inspired entertainment, including live performances presented by Dr. Alyssa Schwartz and friends throughout the celebration.
