About the Friends:
The Friends of the Marion County Public Library is a volunteer nonprofit organization made up of people who recognize the vital role the library plays in the community. It has been a long-standing organization dedicated to provide support, service, and be an advocate for the library
Provide
Funds for Children and Adult Programs, summer reading programs, purchase books for library collection, provide money for projects not funded in the regular budget.
Promote
Reading, literacy, and library use
Operate
The Friends of the Marion County Public Library Used Book Cave housed in the lower level of the library on 321 Monroe Street, Fairmont, WV
Educate
Learn Academy Members, elected officials, and general public about the Marion County Public Library.

Be a Friend:
By joining the Friends of the Marion County Public Library, you will make a positive difference in the library services available to you and the community.
Volunteers from the friends group are instrumental in helping to promote library services, raise much needed funds for library programs, provide additional staffing to help ensure the success of family programming, purchasing equipment, programming awards, prizes, and promotional items.
As a volunteer you will help improve the quality of our library and it’s services, and meet some great people at the same time!
Donations
The Friends welcome your donations of books for the Book Cave. Proceeds from the sale of donations benefit the Marion County Public Library. Donations can be dropped off during regular library hours at the circulation desk.
Due to the dated information contained in encyclopedias and textbooks, we are not able to accept these. Large donations may be delivered to the back loading dock. Please call the library at 304-366-1210 ext. 111 to make arrangements.
Used Book Sale
The Friends of the Library Book Cave is located on the first floor of the library at 321 Monroe Street, and offers great prices on used books, magazines, CDs, and DVDs.
