Marion County Public Library System Announces Online Music and Art Lessons
Marion County Public Library System partners with Recorded Books, Inc. to offer ArtistWorks for Libraries, an interactive, online platform for music and art lessons.
June 21, 2017 – Marion County Public Library System partners with RBdigital from Recorded Books, Inc. (Prince Frederick, MD) to announce the availability of self-teaching resource ArtistWorks for Libraries, which delivers music, voice and fine-arts classes to the community.
“Many children and adults spend hundreds or thousands of dollars a year on private music instruction—or do not have the means or access to accomplished professionals,” said Rich Freese, Recorded Books president and CEO. “ArtistWorks for Libraries offers many communities an alternative to high-cost private-arts instruction.”
ArtistWorks for Libraries provides Marion County Public Library System patrons with world-class music, voice and art instruction through self-paced video lessons taught by highly accomplished and Grammy Award–winning music and art professionals.
ArtistWorks for Libraries offers 24 instrumental, voice and fine-arts classes, from basic courses to intermediate instruction to advanced lessons. Because ArtistWorks for Libraries is browser enabled for both desktop and mobile devices, patrons can enjoy on-the-go learning without having to download an app.
Please see a library staff member at the Marion County Public Library System for more information on how to access this service, or go to www.mcpls.org.
