Don't forget about your mom this month. Bring her to any MCPLS library and let her try one of our Playaways or share with her the delights of WVDELI and online borrowing. Maybe you'd like to make Mom something special, our libraries have lots of books to assist you in crafts, cooking, or other fun treats for mom.
Summer is just around the corner and I can't wait to see what our libraries' Summer Reading Programs have in store... I hear they're going to be something really cool to dig into!

Have Fun in May!
May is a month filled with fun at Marion County Public Library System. All three of our branches will have special Story Hours as the spring sessions come to a close and the kids graduate and go on to Summer Reading. The Mannington Public Library will celebrate one special graduate, Ms. Phyllis - who will start a new phase of her career. Help celebrate the lovely librarian's new beginning on May 22 at 11:00am. The Marion County Public Library will host Free Comic Book Day on May 4th. Coloring and free comics will be available all day, and Captain America will be at the library from 1-3pm.
We're also celebrating another superhero this month, your mom! The Lions Club of Fairmont will present a day of card making and treats in honor of Mother's Day, May 11th from 1-3pm at MCPL. The Fairview Public Library will hold a Mother's Day themed story time for children enrolled in Story Hour. Remember to check the calendar or contact your local library to learn about more awesome events.
It's almost time for Summer Reading! This year, all MCPLS libraries invite kids to Dig Into Reading. Registration for Summer Reading begins on May 20th at Fairview Public Library and June 3rd for Marion County Public Library. Sign-up fast, you don't want to miss out on all the fun activities planned for this summer!
