Fairview Public Library Story Hour participants will also be treated to a magic show on May 22nd at the Fairview Fire Hall to wrap up the spring semester.
The last After School Movie of the school year will be held on May 20th; this month’s feature is Frozen.
Registration for Summer Reading and Cook-a-Book at Fairview Public Library begins on May 12th. Sign-up is required for these programs so register early as space is limited!
The featured guessing game at the Fairview Public Library Circulation Desk is “M&Ms Mayhem.” Give us your best estimate of the number of M&Ms in the jar, be the closest without going over, and win!
Fairview Public Library's final “Juvenile Patron Appreciation Basket Giveaway” concludes in May; children who present their library card when checking out can fill out a ticket for the drawing, with one entry being randomly chosen as the winner.
Mannington Public Library will wrap-up Story Hour this year with painted faces, games, prizes, balloon animals, and cotton candy at our first Spring Carnival. The children are encouraged to invite friends and family to join the fun.
Kids and adults alike will have a chance to learn some recycling tips and make some fun crafts on Saturday, April 5th. TheMarion County Public Library is proud to host the Solid Waste Authority beginning at 11:00 a.m. Kids are invited to create a special craft using recycled materials, enjoy fun recycling games, take home an activity book and a special story reading will be presented at 12:00 p.m. Adults will be treated free materials including medication disposal kits and Proper Disposal Handbooks, and a presentation on the History of Disposal will begin at 2:00. We only get one world.
The Friends of the Mannington Public Library are having their first membership drive in three years. Flyers will be going out this month. All Friends and patrons are invited to the quarterly meetings planned for 2014. Watch for announcements, stop in and see the changes at the library, and please consider renewing your membership or joining the Friends. Also, remember the Friends Book Sale when you’re ready to spring clean your bookshelf.
The Mannington Public Library is hosting a week of activities, April 14-19, to celebrate National Library Week. In addition to the system-wide Fine Free Week, the following activities will take place:
Get a New or Update an existing library card—enter to win $50.00 gas card.
“Spin-the-Wheel” with each visit.
Enter the Grand Prize drawing each time you check out.
Support Teen Literature Day, April 17-Teens can pull lollipops with each check-out for a chance to win a B&N gift card.
Children are encouraged to design a box car, enter it in our Mannington Public Library's Car Show, then park it at the following Drive-In Movie. The Car Show will begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday April 12. The Drive-in Movie, featuring “Frozen”, will begin at 11:00 a.m. We will have free concessions for all who attend. Don’t forget the comfy cushion seat!
