Story Hour 2
Story hour will resume January 16th and 17th. Members already registered do not need to sign up again but just plan on attending on their scheduled day. New members are welcomed and can sign up by calling in at 304-366-1210. Story Hour is open to pre-school age children (generally 3-5) and meets once a week on Wednesdays or Thursdays. Spring semester runs January 16th through May 9th.

Game Day
Join us January 26th at the Marion County Public Library for a fun-filled game day. Board games, puzzles and video games will be played throughout the day. Join us for some Wii bowling fun! Activities will be all day but the bowling will begin at 1pm to 3pm.
Early Closure
Our Fairmont branch will close at 3:00pm on December 14th; Fairview and Mannington libraries will close at 3:00pm on December 13th due to staff holiday parties.
Holiday Family Fun Event
There’s that familiar warm feeling again, the holiday season has arrived! Join the Marion County Public Library on Saturday, December 8th at 1-3 p.m. for our holiday celebration. Holiday themed games, crafts and treats will be on hand for the entire family to enjoy. At 2:00 p.m. the annual Holiday Capers Puppet show will start with some familiar favorites and new whimsical holiday delights. Start the season off right with a visit to the library!
Book Signing
Plan now to stop by the Marion County Public Library on Saturday, December 8, while you’re visiting the Feast of the Seven Fishes Festival on Monroe Street in downtown Fairmont to meet Beverly Baird Boothe, who will be signing copies of her debut novel Jacob’s Tears from 12 noon until 2 p.m. This free event is open to the public.
Thanks for Reading Day
Stop in the library on Saturday, November 10th from 1:00- 3:00PM as we say Thanks for Reading! Thanksgiving crafts, games, and activities will be on hand.
Craft Class
Marion County Public Library's final Craft Class of 2012 will be held November 13th at 5:30PM. We will be making Christmas-themed decoupage coasters. If you have a patterned paper napkin that you may rather use, you are welcome to bring it instead. The class is free, but space is limited. Please call the library at 304-366-1210 to reserve your seat.
Local Talent on Display @ MCPL
Marion County Public Library is proud to display the works of Michael Lough, a local photographer, throughout the month of November.
Book Signing
Local author Lisa A. McCombs will appear at the Marion County Public Library on Tuesday, November 6, from 3-5 p.m. where she will meet the public and sign copies of her books. McCombs’ debut novel Abby, released in 2011, was an honor winner in the Young Adult Coming-Of-Age category in the 2012 Readers’ Favorite contest. The sequel, Raspberry Beret, has recently been published, while the third book in the Wow and Viola! trilogy—Operation Pandora’s Box—will be released in late November.
