ARC will meet on April 14th at 4:30pm to discuss The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks by E. Lockhart. ARC is open to teens in grades 6-12. Space is limited, sign-up at the Marion County Public Library circulation desk to receive a copy of this month’s book.
Summary: Sophomore Frankie starts dating senior Matthew Livingston, but when he refuses to talk about the all-male secret society that he and his friends belong to, Frankie infiltrates the society in order to enliven their mediocre pranks.
The Teen Chess Club will meet on April 14th from 10:00-2:00. The club is open to all teens in grades 6-12. You don’t have to be a skilled chess player to attend; other tabletop games will also be available to play. Snacks and drinks will be provided.
In April, the MCPL Teen Crafternoon is celebrating National Poetry Month with a Blackout Poetry Workshop. Express your linguistic creativity with a Sharpie and old book pages on April 7th at 4:30pm. Finished poems will be displayed in the library.
In order to make room for more donations in the Friends of the Library Book Cave, the Marion County Public Library will host a $1 bag sale from March 17 - 22 in our downstairs exhibiton space. Purchase a bag at the circulation desk, head downstairs to our exhibition space, and stuff your bag until it's overflowing with books! This is a limited time offer, don't miss out!
The Marion County Public Library will hold a special day to celebrate the arrival of St Patrick’s Day. Saturday March 15th is the festive family fun day. Coloring sheets, crafts and activities will be featured to celebrate the lucky day. Spot leprechauns hiding in the library for a prize! The activities will take place 1-2pm. A special story of ‘The Hungry Leprechaun’ will be presented at 2pm. Join us for a family fun event, and be sure to wear your green!

Style-obsessed teens are invited to Marion County Public Library to craft a finger-knitted scarf on March 10th at 4:30pm. All supplies will be provided, but registration is required. Call 304-366-1210 to sign-up.
