Teen Crafternoon

 

Take your old white t-shirts from drab to fab with a Sharpie! May 16th at 4:30pm, MCPL will host a Sharpie Tie-Dye Class. You provide the shirt, we’ll take care of everything else.  The class is open to all teens in grades 6-12. Space is limited to 15 people; call or visit the library to sign up.

Mother's Day Celebration

Join MCPL on Saturday, May 11th in celebration for that wonderful lady in your life, Mom! The Lions Club of Fairmont will host the event from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, and it will feature treats and card making.  Make your Mom a personal card at the library that she’ll cherish forever.

Adult Craft Class

Marion County Public Library's adult craft class will be held Tuesday, May 21 @ 5:00. We will be creating a garden bowl terrarium. Bring your own class salad bowl, or any other large-opening bowl and any tiny objects you like, and we’ll supply the rest! The class is free, but space is limited, so call or stop by the library to sign up.

Free Comic Book Day

Saturday, May 4th is Free Comic Book Day and the Marion County Public Library is celebrating! There will be coloring, activities, and - of course- free comic books! From 1pm - 3pm, Captain America will be at the library to meet with fans. And you don't want to miss the surprise, BIG balloon creation that  Balloons by Michelle has in store!

MCPL Goes Green

The Marion County Public Library is going green all month with free eco-friendly bags. Patrons who visit the library in April will leave with a free tote in honor of Earth Day - while supplies last.

Craft Class

MCPL's adult craft class will be held Monday, April 15th at 5:00pm. Learn how to make buttlerfly ornaments from old books. Class is limited to 15, so please call or visit the library to sign up.

Volunteer Read Day

To kick off National Volunteer Week, the library is having Volunteer Read Day! Stop in the library and check the schedule for various people from the community share a story with children.  The all day event will have stories spread out for the entire day. If you would like to volunteer to share a story, contact our children’s librarian Christian Cox.  Story fun for everyone!

Teen Library Council

The MCPL Teen Library Council will meet on April 23rd at 5:00pm to discuss: May programs, Summer Reading Events, upcoming volunteer opportunities, and books for the library to purchase. We will also vote on a logo design. As always, snacks will be served! All teens in grades 6-12 are invited, so come boss us around!

Blackout Poetry Workshop

Teen Book Club

MCPL invites teens in grades 6-12 to our first ever Teen Book Club meeting on April 16th at 5:00pm. At the first meeting, we will: select titles to read, decide on a name for the club, and nosh some tasty noms. We hope to see you there!
