In Service February 2015

The main and Fairview branches will be closed on Friday, February 6th, 2015 for a staff in-service. They will reopen at 9:00am on Saturday, February 7th. 

Let Freedom Ring Exhibit

The Marion County Public Library is proud to host Let Freedom Ring: The March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom traveling exhibit on loan from the Estate of Stanley Tetrick. The March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom took place in Washington, D.C. on August 28th, 1963. It was attended by more than 250,000 people and was the largest demonstration ever seen in the nation's capital.

Children's Room Under Renovation

The children's room will be closed until further notice as we renovate! We are getting some fresh paint and new carpet in January with new shelving arriving in early February! So, by mid-February we should have a brand-new children's room at the main branch for you to enjoy! Please be patient while we are under construction and improving things for you! 

Holiday Family Fun 2014

The main branch will be hosting their Holiday Family Fun event on Saturday, December 6th from 2:00-3:00pm. Crafts, treats, activities and holiday surprises will take place.

Christmas Family Fun 2014

The main branch will be hosting their Holiday Family Fun event on Saturday, December 6th from 2:00-3:00pm. Crafts, treats, activities and holiday surprises will take place. At 3:00pm, the annual holiday puppet show, Holiday Hijinks, will  be performed. Help up kick off the holiday season and join us as we get things in full festive swing! 

Thanksgiving 2014

All branches of the Marion County Public Library System will be closed from Thursday, November 27th-Sunday, November 30th. We will reopen at 9:00am Monday, December 1st. 

Turkey, Turkey, Turkey Day 2014

Join us Saturday, November 22nd to get ready for this fun-filled holiday. We'll be making various Thanksgiving crafts, coloring sheets, puzzles and other fun things. Activities will take place from 2:00-3:30pm at the main branch. Make a fun decoration to make your Thanksgiving festive!

International Gaming Day 2014

Celebrate International Gaming Day at the main branch! Saturday, November 15th from 9am-4pm we will be having various games throughout the day. Join in on the scavenger hunt, board games and other fun activities. Popular board games, activity sheets, crosswords and more will be available. A Wii bowling tournament will take place starting at 2:00pm. Come early and stay as long as you like!

Fine Free Week!

All fines are forgiven the week of November 9th-15th!

Table Top Game Group

Do you like to play board games? Are you tired of Monopoly and Scrabble? Then join us at the main branch on Wednesday nights from 5-9 for our Table Top Game Group! Alternative, advanced and imaginative games will be featured. Bring you own to share! This event is open to adults and mature teens. Refreshments will be provided! Get your game on!
